Medicare Improvements to Patients and Providers Act
 

Below are a number of documents addressing the Senate’s failure to pass legislation to stop the July 1 Medicare physician payment cut.  These attachments include:  

• A set of talking points for you to use in drafting letters, responding to reporters, and in conversations with your legislators or your physician members.
• A paper describing “Medicare Participation Options for Physicians.”
• A message to physicians about Medicare claims processing in July.
• Today’s statement from HHS Secretary Leavitt on the claims processing issue.
• A “Myth and Fact” sheet on the Medicare Advantage provisions included in H.R. 6331.

The AMA will continue to keep in touch with members of the Federation as things develop.  In the meantime, be sure that Senators hear from physicians and their patients while they are home over the July 4^th Recess.
